The sophisticated new Liftwatch 5 is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art system which not only indicates safe working load but also incorporates valuable control and equipment monitoring functions. These allow the operator to achieve maximum productivity whilst complying with all current UK and European safety regulations.

Liftwatch 5 combines accuracy, reliabilty and durability with the fool-proof simpicity of automatic operation. The large backlit LCD display gives clear indication of current load radius, current maximum safe working load at that radius, and the proportion of SWL being utilised. Overload and approach to overload are indicated by both LED's, and internal/external alarms.

To maximise machine performance, Liftwatch 5 can accomodate two duties, giving the operator access to the extended stability of over the front use on tracked excavators or, for example, a blocked duty on a wheeled machine.

To add to its versatility Liftwatch 5 can also offer both boom height restriction (with or without motion control), and dig depth monitoring with selectable target depth and overcut alarm.

Liftwatch 5 uses proven sensor technology coupled with Prolec's policy of the 'belt and braces' installation technique. All sensors are seriously tough, all exposed cabling is armoured, and all enclosures are metal with industrial quality glands.

The new European standard for excavators used for object handling - BS:EN474-5 becomes a legal obligation within the UK from December 5 1998. Although technically a simple pressure switch will satisfy the letter of this new standard, fitment of Liftwatch 5 allows the full lifting potential of the machine to be realised with zero deration. Where safety is concerned, there is no comparison between a Liftwatch 5, and the distant red pressure switch lamp buried in the dashboard.
